Independent gas tranporters (iGTs) operate, maintain and own local transportation networks. The new housing market constitutes the largest share of the iGT market, although domestic and commercial premises are also connected to iGT networks. In general, utility infrastructure providers (UIPs) design the gas connection in accordance with the standards and procedures laid down by the iGT who is adopting the asset and will be required to operate and maintain it.
