The switch off of the Full Quote Request tool
On May 4th 2012 the Full Quote Request tool will be
permanently switched off to make way for the improved 'Request a
Quote tool' - which is the fastest and easiest way make a
quote request. Here are some specific FAQs about this
change:
Will I need to re-register on the Short Quote Request
tool?
Yes - but only if you want the tool to prepopulate your personal
information and keep a record of the requests you make. You
can do this before you raise your first request by signing up or at
the point of submitting your request (simply follow the onscreen
instructions when prompted to register).
If you don't want to keep a record of the requests you've
submitted and are happy to complete your personal information on
each request, you don't need to register to use the Short Quote Request
tool.
What happens to the requests I've raised using the Full Request
tool?
Part completed requests:
If you have a part completed request that hasn't been submitted,
you'll need to submit it to us before May 4th if you want
to proceed. Otherwise it will be automatically deleted when the
tool is switched off.
Submitted requests:
Your submitted requests have been received and are being processed
as normal. Any further requests that you submit to us before
May 4th will also be processed as normal.
Tracking and updating submitted quote
requests:
After May 4th, you will no longer be able to update or view the
progress of the requests that you have submitted via the tool. If
you do need to tell us about any changes to your request, please do
so before May 4th.

FAQs
Will I have one point of contact in design and/or planning
stages?
Yes, we provide a single designer who'll discuss your project
with you. You'll also speak with a single office and onsite
contact when your project is planned. We also have a national
network of Business
Development Managers who are the first point of contact for our
larger customers.
How long does it take to get a quote?
The speed of our response depends on the complexity of the
connection requirement. Quotes requiring a site survey do take
longer, reflecting the greater design input and detailed
preparation. However, we aim to provide all quotes within a 2-3
week period and our customers remain informed throughout the
process.
If requested, would someone come out and explain available
options to help me decide the best location for the pipework?
Yes, one of our local surveyors or engineers would be happy to
discuss your project with you on site. Your dedicated
designer will also be able to discuss any specific requirements
that you may have with you over the phone.
How long is my quote valid for?
Standard firm quotations are valid for 60 days. Your quotation
letter will specify the exact validity period of your quote.
What should I do if my quote has expired but I want to place an
order?
This isn't a problem. Simply call us and we'll be happy to
provide a re-quote
I have taken over a project from another company/individual,
what will you require in order to send me a 'like for like'
quotation?
We need a letter of consent from the previous customer to do
this. This is in line with rules on data protection.
Is there anything you can do on price?
We have many customers who have used us repeatedly over the
years because they value the quality of our service at every
stage. They are happy to pay for the skill and experience of
our staff deployed at each stage of their project's delivery. We
are committed to providing competitive prices in line with the
market and will discuss any concerns regarding a quotation that you
may have with you.
When is payment made?
Normally, works are paid for at the point of placing an order
with us. However, payment terms are available for specific
works. Please contact your Business Development Manager to
discuss the payment options available to you.
Do you offer staged payments for larger jobs?
Yes, we can offer staged payments for larger projects.

At what stage will I receive a VAT receipt?
You will usually receive a VAT receipt around 10 working days
after your payment has cleared.
Can I hand deliver my quote request or acceptance form and
payment?
