Fulcrum, the leading independent multi-utility infrastructure and services provider, is working with the Carbon Trust to more efficiently measure its carbon emissions to help reduce the Group’s climate impact.
Supporting its strategy of delivering energy infrastructure to enable the UK’s net zero ambitions, including expanding the EV charging network and Smart Meter installation and management, Fulcrum is embarking on a programme that will help it cut emissions from its operations, starting with the implementation of the Carbon Trust’s Footprint Manager platform.
Through the implementation of the Carbon Trust’s cloud-based Footprint Manager software, Fulcrum will be able to measure its carbon footprint more efficiently across its Scope 1 and 2 emissions, helping the organisation to better manage and reduce them.
The Footprint Manager enables the accurate benchmarking, tracking and monitoring of Fulcrum’s activity at its headquarters in Sheffield, UK satellite offices, depots and its large portfolio utility infrastructure installation and maintenance sites, and allows the company to identify opportunities to reduce environmental impact.
Working with the Carbon Trust to implement its Footprint Manager is the latest step we’re taking as a responsible business committed to providing sustainable and innovative solutions that support a net zero future.
We are utilising the expertise and experience of the Carbon Trust to better measure our carbon emissions. This will help us shape the approach we will take to reduce our carbon emissions as we undertake utility infrastructure projects that contribute to the UK’s net-zero future.
As we embark on a proactive carbon reduction programme, we see this work as an important step, to not only provide the solutions required for net zero energy transportation and consumption, but to also minimise the impact of operations in their delivery.
Terry Dugdale, Chief Executive of Fulcrum
Using the Carbon Trust Footprint Manager will enable Fulcrum to accurately measure its Scope 1 and 2 footprint, and is an encouraging first step towards further reducing its emissions and help build a low carbon future.
