Multi-Utility

Developers across the country are increasingly recognising the benefits of planning and installing utilities within a single multi-utility package – with many now taking advantage of the clear benefits of MU including savings on cost, time and reduced environmental impact.

Developers across the country are increasingly recognising the benefits of planning and installing utilities within a single multi-utility package. Fulcrum’s expertise in Multi-Utility delivers multiple benefits including savings on cost, time and reduced environmental impact.

Developer CKC D&B Ltd benefitted from savings associated with the installation of 220 metres of on-site gas, water and electric mains and services in a single trench when delivering supplies to 40 new domestic properties at their Moon Crescent development.

Identifying the best multi-utility solution for your development

As a MURS accredited organisation we are the best people to support you in identifying the optimum multi-utility solution for your project.

To effectively meet your needs we deliver a wide range of technical utility services.  Our in-house gas, electricity and water designers deliver a combined consultative service, using their extensive utility experience and knowledge of the regulatory landscape to ensure the safest, most practical and most cost effective installation.

Whilst regulatory restrictions prevent all utility infrastructure providers from delivering non-contestable work directly, for example the final energisation of electricity networks, we plan and coordinate the works with the incumbent network owners to deliver a seamless installation service, removing the need for you to engage with multiple parties to get your site connected. Over the years we have built effective relationships with all of the various utility networks across the UK and use these relationships to deliver the most efficient service for you.

Although the current regulatory landscape governs what works must be completed by the network owner, we use our experience to make this work to your benefit. For example we can use the networks to deliver specific elements of your multi-utility installation where regulation makes it advantageous for you to do so – either in controlling costs or shortening timescales. Working with us enables you to obtain these advantages without having to endure the time, hassle and uncoordinated service associated with engaging individual parties directly.

A complete and project managed delivery

Most independent providers only deliver multi-utility connections for large residential projects, Fulcrum are different, we work across all commercial and multiple residential developments throughout the UK, allowing a broader range of developers to benefit from the efficiencies of a multi-utility installation.

Our close and collaborative project management approach ensures multi-utility installations are completed with best practice and removes the need for you to have to deal with the various call centres of each of the many UK network owners. Our GIRS, WIRS, NERS and MURS accreditations allow us to undertake a full installation service, delivering all contestable connections activity directly whilst effectively managing and coordinating works by the incumbent networks owners when regulation enforces this.

Street lighting and telecoms ducts

In addition to gas, water and electricity connections, we can provide street lighting connections along with standard telecommunications duct as part of a holistic multi-utility package.
