Fulcrum was appointed to deliver a £1.5m contract to design, build and install new multi-utility infrastructure for a significant build to rent residential development. Sleepers Cross in Luton. Importantly, Fulcrum used its expertise to accelerate the energising of the site by three years, helping Dandara Living overcome the South of England’s electricity capacity issues.

Utilising its extensive multi-utility experience, Fulcrum worked closely with the Distribution Network Operator (DNO) to identify an alternative connection point and off-site route to the site, bringing the development’s connection date forward from 2028 to 2025.
The three-year project will be delivered by a team of up to 20 directly employed Fulcrum engineers, who will design and install 1.4km of electricity infrastructure, through the centre of Luton to the development.
The company will also complete High Voltage connections to two substations, also supplied by Fulcrum. Additionally, Fulcrum will deliver a 500kVA Temporary Builders Supply (TBS) to support the development during construction.
Fulcrum has a strong reputation in the market and its ability to help us overcome issues with electricity grid capacity was essential for Sleepers Cross. These connections will contribute to our sustainability targets for the scheme, whilst also helping to future proof the development.
