Fulcrum won a competitive tender to power Fairham, a £800m joint venture between Clowes Developments and Homes England. The scheme will deliver 3,000 new homes, one million square feet of purpose-built commercial space and up to 2,000 new jobs on the site to the south of Nottingham.

A fully multi-utility solution has been delivered through the joined-up expertise of Fulcrum and Dunamis and Maintech Power, the Group’s High Voltage specialists.

Fulcrum worked with the developer to design and supply the gas, electricity and water infrastructure and a primary substation.

The 132kV substation was a collaboration with the group’s specialist engineering businesses, Dunamis and Fulcrum. Delivered to meet the schedule of the large-scale development, the substation was designed, constructed and commissioned jointly by the Dunamis and Maintech teams.

Fulcrum also completed the installation of water infrastructure and gas pipelines along Fairham’s spine, which will serve both its housing developments and the commercial units.

Fairham is one of the most significant mixed-use developments in the country, bringing fresh employment opportunities and much-needed new housing to the region. It will create a vibrant community with new health, education, leisure, retail and local facilities set within a well-planned, sustainable, safe and characterful environment.

We are delighted the grid substation has been delivered on programme, it is now commissioned and formally adopted. This is a key piece of infrastructure for Fairham and will provide power for both housing and employment.
