A Day in the Life of Keeley King, SME Sales Manager

We caught up with Keeley King, SME Sales Manager who’s been with Fulcrum for 25 years, to learn more about her role, her journey through the business, and how she supports our SME customers across the UK.

Tell us about your role…

As a SME Sales Manager I work closely with smaller or regional developers to deliver complete multi-utility solutions for a variety of developments, typically ranging from 3 to 100 plots.

For many of the developers involved in these type of projects, the process of sorting out utility infrastructure can be confusing and time-consuming. That’s where I come in; I act as the main point of contact for the customer, helping to get the best solution and price for them, while ensuring everything runs as smoothly as possible. I spend a lot of time with our customers, getting to know them and understanding their projects and their needs, so I can make sure they receive the best multi-utility solution and guide them through the whole process.

It’s rewarding to be able to use my experience to help and reassure customers that Fulcrum is here to make things easier. I’ve developed some really strong working relationships over the years and take pride in these .

What does a typical day look like for you?

Every day is different, but a big part of my role is speaking with new and existing customers – helping them understand the multi-utility process, guiding them through their options, and helping them to get the best solution for their project.

Communication is a big part of what I do – both with customers and colleagues – and I genuinely enjoy it.

You’ve been with Fulcrum a long time – tell us about your journey.

Yes – I started at Fulcrum when I was 18, and I’ve been here for 25 years now! My first role was in the gas meter alterations team and have enjoyed a really varied career with the business.

Each role gave me a new perspective on the industry and developed by multi-utility expertise. Eventually, I found my way into sales – which I love and I’ve been ever since.

I think having experience across different parts of the company has helped me hugely in my current role. I understand what needs to happen behind the scenes and what each team needs to deliver, which means I can better support our customers with their multi-utility needs.
