Fulcrum worked with Premier Foods to deliver a significant utility project to reduce their carbon footprint and improve productivity.
Our solution
- We designed and installed 12km of new gas infrastructure which enabled Premier Foods to reduce its carbon footprint in the production of its famous Ambrosia custard, by cutting its reliance on fuel oil and the number of road tankers used to deliver the fuel, as well as providing overall cost savings.
- Following the installation, we adopted the infrastructure and continue to own and operate the pipeline, as part of our UK-wide utility asset portfolio.
Benefits delivered
- The project was completed by a dedicated team of project managers and engineers, which utilised specialist equipment to overcome challenging terrain including successfully crossing the River Tamar.
- Throughout the project, Fulcrum worked closely with the local community by holding regular meetings and publishing online blog updates through a dedicated website to keep residents informed of progress.
This is a major step forward for the site and the local community. We now have a cleaner and more sustainable energy source which is reducing our carbon footprint.
