Fulcrum was appointed to design and install a 3km pipeline to supply gas to a significant, new Center Parcs holiday village - Woburn Forest in Bedfordshire.
Our solution
- We designed and built the gas infrastructure to power an energy centre that includes combined heat and power units (CHP) and a central biomass boiler, to provide energy for an indoor pool, leisure facilities, 625 lodges, a luxury hotel, self-contained spa suites and retail outlets.
Benefits delivered
- We worked closely with the building services design company and civil and structural engineers throughout the project to ensure that the installation was coordinated with the site’s development and wider schedule.
Protection of the environment has always been a fundamental guiding principle for Center Parcs, and Woburn Forest will be no exception. Center Parcs has a sustainability strategy in place which has been agreed by the local authority and as such, Fulcrum will be providing us with a safe, natural gas connection to support Woburn Forest.
We are delighted the grid substation has been delivered on programme, it is now commissioned and formally adopted. This is a key piece of infrastructure for Fairham and will provide power for both housing and employment.
